Mr. James Nyirenda has been dreaming of owning his own poultry farm for many years. He was not however convinced, that the breeds available to him, were going to suit his requirements. In his quest to find the perfect breed, he stumbled on the Silverlands Tanzania website while searching the internet. He and his wife traveled to Silverlands, and they both attended training at our prestigious training centre. This was where Mr. Nyirenda first saw the Sasso breed. He was impressed with their track record as a hardy, versatile bird that could also be sold as a scavenging bird.
After returning to Malawi, he and his wife started Katiri Poultry in Kaonga, North Malawi. He is currently brooding Sasso chicks from Silverlands and selling them in the area. The chicks are fully vaccinated, healthy chicks and they sell themselves, according to Mr. Nyirenda.
